Round 2: Kolts Dominate Maroubra United with 11-2 Victory
The Kellyville Kolts U18 Women’s team kicked off their State Cup campaign with a spectacular 11-2 win against Maroubra United at Bernie Mullane Sports Complex. The Kolts showcased their attacking prowess, ensuring a strong progression to Round 3.
The Kolts set the pace early, with Jemma Whalen scoring in the 8th minute, followed by another goal in the 23rd minute. Jasmine Whalen added to the tally with a goal in the 26th minute. Although Maroubra United pulled one back in the 28th minute, the Kolts remained relentless. Rose Fewell's 41st-minute goal gave the Kolts a 4-1 lead at halftime.
The second half saw the Kolts continue their offensive onslaught. Navika Grover scored in the 53rd minute, and Jasmine Whalen delivered a remarkable performance, scoring four goals in quick succession (63rd, 68th, 70th, and 72nd minutes). Jade Seghabi added another in the 75th minute, with Jasmine Whalen capping off her exceptional day with a goal in the 84th minute. Despite Maroubra United scoring a consolation goal in the 87th minute, the Kolts' teamwork and solid defense shone through, advancing them to the next round.
Round 3: Kolts Edge Past West Pymble FC with a 3-2 Win
In a thrilling Round 3 clash, the Kellyville Kolts faced West Pymble FC at Bernie Mullane Sports Complex. Sarah Vall opened the scoring for the Kolts in the 37th minute. West Pymble equalized just before halftime, making it 1-1 at the break.
The second half saw West Pymble take the lead in the 61st minute. However, the Kolts remained composed, with Jasmine Whalen scoring a crucial equalizer in the 83rd minute and securing the win with a goal in the 88th minute. The Kolts' resilience and determination were on full display as they advanced to the next round.
Quarter Final: Kolts Triumph Over AC United 5-3
The Kolts U18 Women’s team showcased their attacking prowess in a thrilling quarter-final against AC United at Bernie Mullane. An explosive start saw Sarah Vall scoring twice in the 5th and 8th minutes. Navika Grover added to the scoreline in the 35th minute, and Mikayla Bowden extended the lead to 4-0 just before halftime.
AC United fought back in the second half, scoring their first goal in the 55th minute. However, Kellyville responded with Jemma Whalen finding the net in the 62nd minute. AC United managed to score two late goals, but the Kolts' early dominance secured a 5-3 victory and a place in the semi-finals.
Semi Final: Kolts Secure Final Spot with a 6-1 Win Over Bankstown Sports Strikers
The Kolts delivered a commanding performance in the semi-final against Bankstown Sports Strikers, securing their spot in the Football NSW State Cup Final with an impressive 6-1 victory. Jasmine Whalen opened the scoring in the 15th minute and quickly added her second in the 29th minute.
An own goal by the Kolts in the 49th minute gave Bankstown hope, but Sarah Vall restored the two-goal cushion with a strike in the 50th minute. Jade Seghabi converted a penalty in the 52nd minute, and Jessica Searle added another goal in the 58th minute. Sarah Vall capped off the performance with her second goal in the 89th minute, sealing the comprehensive victory.
