2025 Kellyville Kolts Division 1 Trials and 2025 Grading
DIVISION 1 TRIALS
1. The Plan
Division One grading to take place for age groups from U13s to U18s via trials. The purpose of this approach is to ensure we create opportunity and a pathway for players (both boys and girls) to aspire to. From a Club perspective, it is important to grow and develop our younger players to create a talent pool from which senior squads can be replenished from year on year and into the future.
2. Rationale
2.1. Whilst we are a large and inclusive Club with hundreds of teams of varying
ages and abilities wearing the Red and Black, it is important that we create and maintain a pathway for talented players who may be aspirational and have the ability to play in a Kolts Premier League in the future.
2.2. Potential is only a starting block and development and incremental growth from a young age is vital if we are to nourish football talent at the Kolts, not only for grassroots representation (Kolts Premier League) but also for those with aspirations beyond the Club (State, National).
2.3. The Club is rightly proud of how many senior players have come through the ranks from the youth teams and we want to continue and improve that organic growth.

Grading 2025
All registered players should arrive 15-20 minutes ahead of their scheduled start time and check-in with the Age Coordinator.
All players must be registered & fully paid with Kellyville Kolts Soccer Club before taking part in any grading sessions.
- Minis U5-U6 do not grade and are just placed into teams. For more information please contact our Minis coordinator, Yasmin, at minis@kellyville.football
- Players in U7 & U8 will be placed into teams for our in-house development program. For more information, please contact our U7 & U8 Coordinator Attila, at under8@kellyville.football
- Players from the U9 to U18 age groups are individually graded for their football abilities through an in-house grading process. Once assessed, the player will be provisionally allocated to a team for the trial games. Final grading will occur after the trial matches.
- If you cannot attend a grading session, you will need to inform your age coordinator beforehand in writing via email.
TEAM SELECTION
- Players will be graded into teams by the appropriate age group with a desired number of players in a team equivalent to the number of players on the field plus three reserves.
- Only registered and financial players will be graded.
- Only players attending grading days or where prior season coaches’ feedback exists will be graded.
- The Football Committee will arrange grading days and will appoint experienced persons to independently grade players. These preliminary gradings will be subject to performance during trial matches and will be subject to change.
- It is at the discretion of the Coach to have more players than specified above in the team but such numbers will only be permitted in exceptional circumstances and where adequate registered players are available in that age group to ensure all teams have adequate numbers.
- Players who register late or do not attend grading days will be graded at the discretion of the Football Committee.
