In a closely matched encounter, the Kellyville Kolts Men's Premier League First Grade team squared off against the Winston Hills Bears. Originally scheduled as a home game for Winston Hills, adverse weather conditions necessitated a move to the all-weather pitches at Hills Grammar School. The contest ended in a 0-0 stalemate, marking the second consecutive draw for the Kolts.
Both teams demonstrated solid defensive strategies throughout the match, effectively neutralizing each other's attacking threats. Despite several attempts on goal from both sides, neither team was able to break the deadlock. The goalkeepers and defensive units were particularly notable for their performances, making crucial saves and clearances that kept the scoreline level.
The change of venue and the wet weather conditions posed additional challenges, impacting the flow of the game and possibly affecting the usual play style of both teams. The all-weather pitches allowed the match to proceed despite the weather, but the slick surface and altered dynamics might have influenced the precision and timing of passes and shots.
This draw reflects a hard-fought battle in midfield, with both teams showing resilience and tactical discipline. For the Kolts, securing a point in such challenging conditions is commendable, though they might feel the pressure to secure a win in upcoming matches to regain momentum. Similarly, the Winston Hills Bears will likely see this as a missed opportunity to clinch a victory but can take pride in their defensive solidity.
Looking forward, both teams will need to address their offensive strategies to convert opportunities into goals, as they continue to compete in a tightly contested league season.
In a Premier League Reserve Grade match originally slated as a home game for Winston Hills, adverse weather conditions shifted the venue to the all-weather pitches at Hills Grammar School. Despite the change in location, the Kellyville Kolts delivered a strong performance, leaving with a convincing 4-1 victory over Winston Hills.
The game began competitively, with both teams adjusting to the slick conditions of the all-weather pitch. Angus Allen broke the deadlock for the Kolts in the 21st minute, giving them an early lead with a well-executed strike. The match remained 1-0 in favour of the Kolts until Winston Hills found an equaliser in the 58th minute, briefly leveling the score and injecting new life into the contest.
However, the Kolts quickly regained control, with Nick Giampietro taking centre stage. He scored twice in quick succession, first in the 63rd minute and again in the 67th minute, showcasing his scoring prowess and decisively swinging the momentum back towards Kellyville. Sam Kilborn added another goal in the 69th minute, further extending the lead and sealing the victory for the Kolts.
The 4-1 win is a testament to the Kolts' resilience and ability to adapt to unexpected changes, such as the venue switch. Their capacity to maintain focus and execute their game plan under less than ideal conditions was clearly demonstrated in this match. This victory not only provided the Kolts with three valuable points but also a significant boost in morale as they continue their campaign in the league.
With the game washed out the Youth Boys will look to showcase their skills this week when they take on Rouse Hill Rams at the home of Kolts Football – Bernie Mullane.

Grace Gibbeson found the net again in the 36th minute, her double capping a prolific first half. Steph Padilla added to the tally just before the break in the 40th minute, ensuring the team went into halftime with a comfortable lead.

In a closely contested match at their home ground, the Kellyville Kolts Youth Girls Premier League team faced their first defeat of the season, losing 2-3 to Norwest. Despite a valiant effort, the Kolts were unable to maintain their unbeaten streak. Jasmine Whalen and Sarah Vall scored for the Kolts, each contributing a goal, but it wasn't enough to secure a victory against a determined Norwest side that managed to edge out the Kolts with a one-goal advantage. This setback is a tough lesson for the Kolts, but it also provides valuable insights as they look to bounce back in their upcoming fixtures.
