The Rockets struck first in the 27th minute, catching the Kolts on the counter and giving the visitors an early advantage. But the Kolts responded in style, showing great composure and determination.
Just four minutes later, Matthew Drinnan found the equaliser in the 31st minute, finishing off a well-worked move to swing the momentum back in Kellyville’s favour. The turnaround was complete moments later when Joshua Sadler calmly slotted home in the 35th minute, giving the Kolts a 2-1 lead heading into the break.

The Youth Boys Premier League side kicked off their 2025 campaign with a hard-fought 2-1 win over local rivals Rouse Hill Rams at Bernie Mullane. With a fresh-faced lineup and plenty of nerves in the opening stages, the Kolts settled into the contest after a tight opening 15 minutes.
It was Oliver Duffy who sparked the breakthrough, threading a perfectly weighted assist for Josh Smart, who unleashed a thunderous 30-metre strike that rippled the net and sent the home fans into raptures.
But just as the Kolts looked to take control, a defensive lapse right on the stroke of half time gifted the Rams an equaliser, leaving it 1-1 at the break.
After a firm halftime message from both coach and captain, the Kolts emerged a different side in the second half. They dominated possession, dictated tempo, and eventually found their reward. VJ Mulalitharan delivered an “out of this world” assist, and it was skipper Matt Drane who rose to the occasion, burying the winner with authority.
