With weather affecting all matches across the competition the PYL boys were fortunate to play this weekend. They took that opportunity with aplomb after being given the week off to recover and prepare for 4 games in 7 days 🤯. Within 10 seconds of kick-off, they were in front. As United played their 1st pass backwards, Dylan Timoney pressed an indecisive CB, won the ball playing in Jay Gardiner. Gardiner unleashed a ferocious shot from 20 yards out to ruffle the back of the net. The quickest goal recorded in PYL history. 1-0⚽️
It wasn’t long before the Kolts doubled their lead. As their young counterparts struggled to settle into the game the Kolts were non-stop in the 1st 15 minutes as they blew their opponents away and found themselves 2-0 up after some excellent play. Alex Mealey sent in a cross for in-form midfielder, Oliver Duffy, to score his 1st of the season ⚽️.
It was a high octane start from the Kolts. The rest of the half played out a little more evenly, but the excellent opening 15 minutes set the foundation.
After the break the Kolts had a momentary lapse in concentration and allowed United a way back into the game 2-1⚽️. The boys didn’t feel sorry for themselves and immediately responded with 2 goals to effectively kill off their opponents. Within minutes Conor Siney scored after an excellent rehearsed free kick. Arjun Sandhu, who put in a man of the match performance, fooled the United defence as CB Anthony Ivancic found space to lob a delightful cross to the back post for Siney to finish. Minutes later it was Siney again as a sublime pass from skipper, Ethan Jones, found him central in the box. Siney calmly rolled his defender and keeper to finish brilliantly 4-1⚽️
An excellent result and one that puts the Kolts top of the league as they head into their clash with, perennial rivals, Hills Spirit on Tuesday at Arnold Avenue, who are still smarting from their penalty shootout loss the week before. 💯
Until next time
BLEED ❤️🖤
