WPL Round 1 Match Review – Kellyville Kolts vs Quakers Hill Tigers
The Kellyville Kolts kicked off their Women’s Premier League title defence in style, dominating Quakers Hill Tigers in the Round 1 Match of the Round at Blacktown Football Park. The reigning champions showed their intent early and never looked back, cruising to a 5-1 victory.
Georgia Hogan opened the scoring in the 32nd minute with a composed finish, giving the Kolts a 1-0 lead at the break. The second half was all Kellyville, with four goals in a 16-minute blitz. Emma Vannitamby doubled the lead in the 50th minute, followed by quickfire strikes from Mia Nestorovic (53’), Kevin Opia (58’), and Anita Ibrahim (66’) to blow the game wide open.
Quakers Hill Tigers pulled one back late in the 85th minute, but the result was well beyond doubt.
A commanding performance to start the season — the Kolts look sharp, focused, and ready to defend their crown.
