4-3✅
Vs Rouse Hill Rams Red 🐏

Man of The Match - Ethan Jones🥇
An absolute pulsating game took place at the weekend where fierce rivals Kolts took on Rams. A battle of the titans ensued as 1st played 2nd.
Rams were ahead after just 1 minute when some poor defending saw them capitalise on a Josh Sadler mistake to make it 0-1. The Kolts took control but were sloppy again as a direct ball over the top saw Rams break. Slow reactions from Sadler and McGlynn saw the Rams double their lead within 10 minutes 0-2.
Although behind, the collective experience within this Kolts team shone through as they dictated and controlled the tempo of the game. Some calm play saw then create chance after chance but they failed to take any of them. That was up until about 5 minutes before half time where a wicked cross from Matt Drane created mayhem in the box. Spencer Fisher was 1st in hand to react and deflect the ball to Conor Siney who found space and finished neatly to make it 1-2 before the break.
After a half time tactical talk from Coach Tayler, the boys struck back. A sublime free kick from Ethan Jones had the Kolts level within 1 minute of the KO. 2-2 and game on.
Rams dropped deeper and deeper as they were generally waiting for moments to counter attack. The problem was the Kolts were in total control of the speed, tempo and territory throughout. That patience and maturity shown on the day will hold them in good stead at the back end of the season.
Coach Tayler introduced Aveesta and Mealey to inject some fresh life into the attack. Within minutes the Kolts grabbed the lead when some neat skill by Aveesta exposed the defence. A great cross from him deflected and landed at marauding LB, Josh Sadler feet. He finished with aplomb. Sadler who was having a relatively off day still managed to get in the right position to bury the chance and give the Kolts the lead after a massive fight back.
Moments later the endless pressure from the Kolts paid off again as patient build-up from the back saw Matt Drane whip in a delicious cross for Alex Mealey to expertly finish and put the game to bed. Or did it?
The Kolts decided to have a 3rd lapse in concentration and gift Rams a 3rd goal to make for a nervy ending. They held out in this top of the table clash and extended their unbeaten run and created a 7 point lead in the chase for the Minor Premiership.
Special mention to Ethan Jones who had a memorable afternoon dictating play and pulling the strings from midfield. Jones was exceptional and capped it off with a fine goal in this Man of the Match performance
