The Kellyville Kolts Soccer Club is proud to announce a significant achievement in their ongoing commitment to coach and player development. Four of the club's volunteer coaches, Paul Katsetis, Dean Brodie, Carlya Harrold, and Mike Gardiner, have recently completed their Football Australia / AFC C Diploma, marking a milestone in their volunteer coaching careers and promising an exciting future for the players they train.
These coaches, who generously volunteer their time at the club, play a crucial role in nurturing the skills and love for the game among young Kolts players. The C Diploma is recognised for enhancing coaching knowledge and skills, enabling coaches to effectively contribute to player development.
Paul Katsetis, reflecting on his journey, shared, "After a long and fulfilling career playing professionally, I realised it was time to give back to the next generation of players. Drawing upon my extensive experience as a professional player, I decided to pursue the Football Australia / AFC C Diploma. Through this course, I've acquired valuable tools and knowledge that I aim to utilise in developing young players helping them take their game to the next level."
Dean Brodie also emphasised the impact of his new qualifications, stating, "I will be focusing more on the principles of the play-practice-play approach to training than I have in the past." This approach is expected to enhance the learning experience for players, making training more engaging and effective.
When asked about the impact on her players, Carlya Harrold responded, "Hopefully it will make them better players with a well-rounded understanding of football." This goal aligns with the club’s vision of developing technically proficient and tactically sound players.
The Kellyville Kolts Soccer Club continues to prioritise the ongoing development of its volunteer coaches, believing that knowledgeable and passionate coaches are key to inspiring and developing young talents. The club looks forward to seeing the positive impact these coaches will have on their players, equipping them with the skills needed to excel both on and off the field.
